The Kilishe

Bottom Border

The People of Faith and Fire

he Kilishe are a proud, towering race of lizardfolk who make their home in the harsh, volcanic mountains and red mesas of the West. They are deeply devout, worshiping Kyaar, a great half-dragon ancestor who bestowed upon them the gift of fire. Though they were stripped of their natural ability to breathe flame as punishment for their ancient hubris, the Kilishe now harness Fire Magu forged from the very earth they walk upon.

Riding massive, rock-horned mountain goats known as Onybex, the Kilishe dominate the craggy slopes of their homeland. Their society is guided by the matriarchal “Three Flames” priestesses in Kya City, the oldest stone city in Padun. Whether they are striking with terrifying ferocity or performing mesmerizing, ash-spreading fire dances, the Kilishe are an aggressive, unyielding force that leaves nothing but scorched earth in their wake.

Masters of the Flame

The Kilishe army utilizes devastating Fire Magu and aggressive, multi-space strikes to overwhelm their opponents.

  • Ravagers (Warriors): Standing over 7 feet tall and wielding massive bone swords, these frontline defenders are clad in iron plates engraved with the jagged green lines of their mountain peaks. Prone to blood frenzies, they deliver devastating, crushing blows.
  • Skirmishers (Rogues): Nimble hunters wearing sectioned obsidian scale mail. They use the sharpened hooves of the Onybex as deadly throwing shards to strike enemies from unexpected angles.
  • The Blessed (Mages): Radical zealots of “Kyaar’s Hand” who crush fire ingots into their bare flesh. This agonizing ritual allows them to unleash raw, unstable pillars of flame to cleanse the battlefield.
  • Fire Dancers (Priests): Devout matriarchs who spin and twirl with thuribles, spreading ash and crushed ingots to ignite the battlefield. They use these mesmerizing rituals to protect their kin and channel Kyaar’s grace.

Kyaan, The Chosen

Kyaan, The Chosen

Background & Lore

Born with unusual purple and white skin, Kyaan struggled to fit in and faced teasing from their clutch mates in Kya City. However, during their “Ashing” ceremony, a miraculous event occurred: as they exhaled the ritual ash, they breathed a swirling pillar of actual fire, becoming the first Kilishe to control the element without an ingot since the days of old.

Instantly worshiped as the literal “Breath of Kyaar,” Kyaan was taken in and placed under the fierce protection of the Three Flames Priestesses. Their very existence has ignited a holy crusade across Padun. Fervent zealots known as “Kyaar’s Hand” now throw themselves fanatically into battle, believing it is their sacred duty to lay down their lives to pave the way for Kyaan’s prophesied new age of fire.

Tactics & Playstyle

  • Class: Mage
  • Talent: Magu Strike
  • Base Ability (Burning Sacrifice): Kyaan utilizes their zealous followers as human shields. When Struck, their ability allows you to redirect the incoming Strike to an adjacent Squad.
  • Magusha Trigger: To unleash their divine fire, you must have 7 troops in your Spirit Pool.
  • Magusha Mode (Alight from Within): In this divine form, Kyaan changes to a Priest class with the Protect talent. Their new ability, Kyarr’s Chosen, allows them to Spirit Guard an Ally as a free Rally at the start of the turn. Furthermore, all allies gain a devastating Spirit Break attack, allowing them to sacrifice their spirit to damage an adjacent enemy.

Wrexxar, Iron Claw

Wrexxar, Iron Claw

Background & Lore

The sole survivor of a tainted, plague-stricken clutch, Wrexxar was born with a stunted arm and shunned by his people as a cursed outcast. Despite his dreams of fighting on the front lines, his requests were repeatedly denied by his Warchief. He eventually proved his unmatched ferocity during an escort mission for Priestess Gem, rescuing her from a deadly Woodwyn ambush and single-handedly shredding the attackers.

Instead of a hero’s welcome, Wrexxar faced only more ridicule and was stripped of his Warrior title, relegated to work as a lowly smith. Fueled by decades of anger and shame over his weak limb, he forged a terrifying, mechanical iron arm powered by Fire Magu to replace it. Though an exiled hermit, his brute strength, clubbed tail, and burning mechanical claw make him an unstoppable juggernaut on the battlefield.

Tactics & Playstyle

  • Class: Warrior
  • Talent: Double Strike
  • Base Ability (Forged in Fury): Wrexxar thrives on explosive aggression. On Strike, he targets all 3 of his Compass spaces simultaneously, hitting everything in his path (including your own allies).
  • Magusha Trigger: A true last-stand mechanic, this triggers when you would normally lose the game; Wrexxar instead gains his Reserves or remaining Squads as Spirit.
  • Magusha Mode (Forged in Battle): Upon flipping, Wrexxar refuses to fall. His new ability, Tempered Steel, dictates that you only lose the game when Wrexxar has no Spirit remaining. Additionally, he becomes a relentless force, allowing you to Command him up to 3 times in a single turn, losing one Spirit at the end of the turn.
